Hilong Shine R & D Center is the core department of Shanghai Hilong Shine New Material Co., Ltd with solid resource of personnel and equipment. Besides the managements, the center currently has six experienced senior professors, seven doctors, twenty five masters and some undergraduates. It established a Priority Joint Research Group with the State Key Laboratory - Shanghai Institute of Polymer Science of Fudan University, and established the Strategic Alliance with Materials Institute of East China University to jointly improve Manufacturing, Teaching & Researching. Each year, the center keeps applying for several products invention patents to National Intellectual Property Office.

Hilong Shine R & D Center with strong technical strength, has all kinds of high-tech coating testers and inspection instruments, including High Rate Scan Electron Microscope, Chromatography, Spectroscopy, Differential Thermal Analysis testers, Wearing Resistance tester, Tensile machine, Environmental Stress Cracking tester, Auto-salt Spray tester, Heavy Wet-Hot tester, Accelerated Aging resistance tester, Surface Tension tester, the Mechanical Properties of Coating tester, Corrosion Media Resistance tester, Melt Index instrument, Electrochemical tester, High and Low Temperature tester, Computer Controlled Color Mixer, H₂S/CO₂ High-temperature and High-pressure tester, Experimental Production equipment, etc. The center has various world-advanced equipments to do full performances tests for all liquid coatings, powder coatings, plastic coatings, UV coatings and raw materials for coating materials.

Five Development Directions:

Liquid Coating Material Development: developing the heavy-duty coatings in the fields of petroleum, chemical, ocean, etc., and the special functional coatings; the research direction focus in heavy-duty anticorrosive, functional, long-term available and environmental protection.

Powder Coating Material Development: developing the heavy-duty powder coatings for petroleum pipeline etc.; the research direction focus in high performance of adhesion, heat resistance and chemical resistance.

Plastic Coating Material Development: developing the pipeline external 3LPE and 3LPP plastic coatings; the research direction focus in the extensive technical applicability.

UV Coating Material Development: developing UV curing coatings; the research direction focus in UV curing coatings used in heavy-duty area.

Synthetic Resin and Special Functional Material Development: developing special coating resins and special functional materials; the research direction focus in UV curing coating resins, special curing agents and functional additives.
